How it works

24/7 school safety monitoring: AI notices, people decide.

Steadfast connects the cameras, sensors, doors, and alarms on your campus to AI detection and a staffed operations center. Every alert is checked by a trained analyst in seconds, then your district's own response plan takes over. Day, night, weekends, and summer.

How it works

AI notices. People decide.

The AI watches every feed and sensor at once, which no person can do. A trained analyst checks every alert, which no AI should skip. Then your plan takes over.

Detect

AI and sensors on Verkada and Ubiquiti UniFi, plus dedicated firearm detection.

  • Weapons, plates, people, behavior
  • Smoke, vape, sound, temperature
  • Doors, panic buttons, device health

Verify

A Steadfast analyst in our 24/7 operations center reviews the live video and sensor data.

  • Real threat or false alarm?
  • Who, where, which way
  • Camera-to-camera tracking

Respond

Your district's playbook runs: who gets called, what they see, what locks.

  • Sirens and live talk-down
  • Lockdown and door control
  • SRO, admins, staff paged
  • 911 with verified details
The operations center

Real people, awake all night.

Steadfast alerts land in Freedom Tech's Network & Security Operations Center, the same in-house team that monitors networks, cybersecurity, video, access control, and LPR for the organizations we serve. Not an outsourced call center.

  • One operating picture. A camera event, a door alarm, and a network outage on the same campus show up as one incident, not three tickets.
  • Context, not noise. Events are reviewed in context so real threats are separated from false alarms and routed to the right people.
  • Built with responders in mind. Where deployed and authorized, integrations can support CAD, dispatch, 911, and real-time crime center workflows.
  • Evidence preserved. Relevant video and event data can be retrieved and preserved for follow-up and investigations.

Why a person in the loop

Cameras record. People respond.

Most schools already have cameras. What they don't have is someone watching every feed at 10:03 on a Tuesday or 1:18 on a Sunday morning. Steadfast closes that gap without asking your staff to become video monitors.

Recording-only cameras

Useful after the fact. Silent while it's happening.

  • Footage is reviewed after an incident is reported
  • No one is watching most feeds most of the day
  • Basic motion alerts are often too noisy to act on
  • Nights, weekends, and summers are effectively unwatched

Steadfast monitoring

Built to act while there's still time.

  • AI watches every camera and sensor at once
  • A trained analyst verifies each alert on live video
  • Your playbook runs: lockdown, staff, SRO, and 911
  • The same coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Inside and out

A sensor plan for every part of campus.

We walk your campus and put each camera and sensor where it does the most good, from the street to the server room. Everything reports to the same analysts, so a plate read in the drive and a door alarm in the hallway show up as one incident.

Outside

Stop threats before they reach the building.

  • Entrances & drivesAI plate reads on every vehicle, hotlist alerts, wrong-way driving, and how long vehicles linger.
  • Parking lots & bus loopsAI weapon detection, loitering warned off by AI voice deterrence, PTZ cameras that follow a person or vehicle.
  • Perimeter, playgrounds & fieldsFence-climbing and line-crossing alerts, after-hours people verified on video, 120 dB horn speakers for talk-down.
  • Exterior doorsForced, propped, and blocked-exit alarms, glass-break sensors, and one-action lockdown.

Inside

See trouble early and respond fast.

  • Front office & vestibuleVideo intercom, ID-checked visitor sign-in, watchlist alerts for people barred from campus*, and panic buttons that start a lockdown.
  • Hallways, classrooms & commonsFight, fall, and crowd-forming detection, loud-noise alerts, optional gunshot sensors, and natural-language video search.
  • Restrooms, locker rooms & health roomsSensors only: vape, smoke, air quality, sound level, temperature, and tamper.
  • Gyms, auditoriums & building systemsOccupancy at games and assemblies, smoke and CO alarm audio, temperature and leak sensors in server rooms.

Built on Verkada and Ubiquiti UniFi cameras, sensors, alarms, and access control, with specialist add-ons for firearm, gunshot, and THC detection. Exact features depend on the hardware chosen for each site. *Face matching is optional and only compares against a watchlist your district approves, such as people under a trespass or court order, where state law and district policy allow it.

Built on proven platforms

Your hardware. Our eyes on it.

Steadfast is built on Verkada and Ubiquiti UniFi cameras, sensors, alarms, and access control, with specialist add-ons for firearm, gunshot, and THC detection. We work with the systems you already have where we can, and fill the gaps where you need it. Freedom Tech's engineers install, connect, and support everything, and our network team keeps the cameras and doors online.

What is Steadfast Schools?

Steadfast Schools is a 24/7 monitored school safety program from Freedom Tech. We connect the cameras, sensors, doors, and alarms on your campus to AI detection and a staffed operations center. A trained analyst verifies every alert in seconds, then your district's response plan takes over: lockdown, staff, SRO, and 911 with verified details.

Does Steadfast replace our SRO, security staff, or front office?

No. Steadfast gives the people already on your campus earlier, verified information so they can act faster. Analysts watch every feed at once, which no person on site can do, and hand your team a clear picture: what, where, and which way.

How fast does an analyst see an alert?

Alerts reach an analyst within seconds; about five seconds from detection to review is typical. Actual timing depends on camera placement, configuration, and your district's approved response plan, which we set up together.

What happens after school, at night, and over the summer?

The same analysts and the same playbooks stay on watch 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. After-hours alerts like fence climbing, break-ins, smoke, water leaks, and overheating server rooms go to the people on your call list, and to police or fire when needed.

Can we keep our existing cameras?

Often, yes. We work with what you already have where we can and fill the gaps where you need it. Steadfast is built on Verkada and Ubiquiti UniFi cameras, sensors, alarms, and access control, with specialist add-ons for firearm, gunshot, and THC detection. Your campus assessment shows what can stay and what would help.

Does Steadfast connect to 911 and dispatch?

Your playbook decides who gets called. Analysts can relay verified details to 911, including a description, location, vehicle, plate, and direction of travel. Where deployed and authorized, integrations can support CAD, dispatch, and real-time crime center workflows; specifics depend on the agency and platform.

Can Steadfast talk to a trespasser or sound an alarm?

Yes. Analysts can speak directly to someone on campus through speakers on your lots, fields, and entrances, and set off sirens and strobes. After hours, AI can play an automated warning the moment someone climbs a fence or lingers by a door. When each is used follows your district's approved response plan.
